The SATELLITE NATION - Hailing from the Central Coast near Sydney, Australia and now based in Vancouver, The Satellite Nation are a truly exciting, raw and organic musical collective poised to make a major impact with their songs about life, love, loss, coming of age and the world around us. They have toured Australia extensively, built a killer live show and a solid, loyal fan base, won numerous awards and received high rotation on radio. All this has guaranteed their place in the Australian music scene and they are now set to repeat their success in North America. Their new record was released on January 26th to a sold out show and now with an upcoming North American tour, headlining performances at music festivals as well as growing radio support, The Satellite Nation has no intention of slowing down. Watch for the sparks to fly!
WHITFIELD - Since moving to Vancouver two years ago, Whitfield has exploded from modest beginnings into an act of international calibre. Their musical roots are entwined with the UK alternative rock culture, possessing a charming quality that combines sparkling soundscapes with powerfully layered dynamics. Their latest CD "Well Behaved & Working For You" generated extraordinary reviews and interest in the group, scoring them high-profile opening spots like Athlete at the Commodore Ballroom. They recently received the "Best of The Fest" award at NewMusicWest, the Peoples' Choice award at Toronto Indie Week, and "Best Alternative Group" at the Toronto Independent Music Awards. Heralded by The Kamloops Omega as "The Best Band You've Never Heard", Whitfield engulfs audiences with haunting swells, high-pitched overtones, and lyrics of beauty and significance.
