Event Description

. Saturday, September 29th I.M.U. presents The ELIXXXIRS, FUZZCAT, NATURAL FLAVAS & SPEED SHAKER @ The Bourbon, 50 West Cordova . Doors 7pm - Purchase advance tickets online at http://www.imuproductions.com/tix

The ELIXXXIRS - A dash of Rockabilly, a pinch of Punk, and a shake of Ska - blend it with pop/rock and you have an elixir that people want a taste of. Heat it on high with Bobbi-Jo's racy lyrics, Chris' violating bass lines, and Dave's delectable drumming and you have The Elixxxirs the trio that has audiences screaming for MORE! Its all about feeling good, having fun, and doing whatever you want when this band burns up the stage. http://www.theelixxxirs.com

FUZZCAT - Assembling like the five lions of Voltron, Fuzzcat unified into a tight music-making machine bringing thick beats and ass-shakin' rawk. Influences include Manu Chao, The Clash, Public Enemy, Fela Kuti and anyone else that brings a tear to the eye or a beer to the lips. You never know who will sit in or whose clothes may be shed. If you like shaking your ass and banging your head, come work it out with Fuzzcat. http://www.myspace.com/fuzzcatmusic

NATURAL FLAVAS (or Natty Flavs) produces original reggae-soaked with horns and harmonies that parallels the current Jamaican scene while remaining uniquely Canadian. Because several of the members have experience playing with Jamaican artists on tour through Canada (including the Mighty Diamonds, George Nooks, Alton Ellis and Half Pint), the band also works as a backing band for other reggae artists and has an extensive repertoire of standards and riddims. Moving forward from here, Natty Flavs wants to bring their brand of original fire to the world and put Vancouver on the map as part of the larger international reggae community. http://www.myspace.com/nattyflavs

SPEED SHAKER - Chris Furry's brand spanking new group made up from ex-members of various Vancouver ska bands and music skool geeks: Christ Child - Guitar/Vocals, Sean - Bass/Vocals, Rich - Drums & Kristy - Saxophone/Vocals. http://www.myspace.com/speedshaker
