It’s safe to say Amy Winehouse’s upcoming North American tour is one of the most anticipated of the year, if not the decade. The singer has won universal acclaim for her album Back to Black, which includes the hit singles “Rehab” and the title track. Not only did Amy take home the award for British Female Solo Artist this year at the Brits, but both Prince and Elton John have sung her praises, with Elton calling her “the world’s most talented female singer.” Since the release of Back to Black last year, Amy has picked up numerous other awards, but her’s is definitely a case of letting the music do the talking - anyone who hears her stunning, emotional vocals on modern R&B stunners like “Me & Mr. Jones” or “Love is a Losing Game” comes away a fan. Amy Winehouse is the real article, and a chance to see her is a chance to see an artist on her way to becoming a superstar, if she isn’t one already.
Young singer-songwriter, Paolo Nutini has picked up numerous accolades for his debut album These Streets. His soulful, passionate voice and storytelling ability are just a couple of the qualities that have attracted hundreds of thousands of listeners to songs like “Jenny Don’t Be Hasty” and “New Shoes”. Platinum in the UK, These Streets was awarded four out of five stars by Uncut magazine, while Rolling Stone named the 20-year-old one of its “10 Artists to Watch in 2006.” With his second North American tour coming up, this talented Scotsman - who has been singled out for his elegant and melodic songwriting and has been compared to such masters as Al Green and Van Morrison - is sure to win over even more fans this time out.
