Event Description

. Friday, March 16th IMU presents TOP DRAWERS, STEVE RIO, AU4, EDMUND & CONRAD @ The RAILWAY CLUB, 579 Dunsmuir Street . Doors 8:30pm / $10

TOP DRAWERS - This nitty gritty garage rock band features Eric Lefebvre from the Beatles Tribute Twist & Shout, Patrick Jacobson from the Capitals, Marla Mcqueen from Black Eyed Blonde and Del Cowsill from the infamous Cowsill's. Influenced by all those great 60's Nuggets from the UK and US, their in your face raw edgy rock'n'roll is guaranteed to groove and shake your ass! http://www.myspace.com/thetopdrawers

STEVE RIO is a talented local guitarist, vocalist, songwriter and producer who has been involved with music since the age of 12, playing in almost every type of project imaginable including local alt-punk band ODESSA. His most recent CD release , "Hallucinations" is an expansive genre-bending work that features straight-up indie rock along with dark experimental tracks, roots and electronic sounds, twisting through genres while guided by Rio's honest lyrics and confident but understated vocal approach. http://www.steverio.ca

AU4 - Vancouver-based electronic ensemble AU4 (pronounced Oh-Four) write music that explores and celebrates the endless forces that shape and bind us in an uplifting, ethereal trip through the rhythms of nature and the nature of dreams, mixing blissed-out ambience with melodic, fairytale songs. Drawing from trip-hop, ambient and dreampop styles, AU4 features the haunting vocals of Ben Wylie, who scripted the band's fantastical stories of love and life. http://www.au4-audio.com

EDMUND play intelligent rock/pop music inspired by artists like The Beatles, The Cure, Radiohead, The Smiths, Death Cab and David Bowie. Come listen to stellar tunes from "Behave", their recent debut CD release! http://www.myspace.com/edmundband

CONRAD - Veering from hook-filled indie rock to swirling dream pop, Conrad's alt-pop-twang is atmospheric and poetic. Their lyrics deal with revolutionaries and love, moving from personal introspection to the current political landscape with edgy ease. Comprised of singer/songwriter Larry Lechner, guitarist Mark Eddy, Adrian Popple on bass, vocals and keyboards, and Marc L'Esperance on drums, Conrad delivers "richly textured jangly pop" (Queue Magazine) http://www.conradmusic.com
