Event Description
The ageless electrifying music of Dixieland jazz recalls the festive atmosphere of New Orleans during the early years of the 20th century.
A Journey to Dixieland focuses on the songs, dances and dreams of this colourful period as reflected by a lively old woman named Miss.
Like a gramophone, Miss takes us back in time introducing the audience to her marvelous memories as she recounts the legends of blues, Charleston, shimmy and scat music.
Youth concerts awaken children to the beauty of music; the emphasis is on the quality of the music presented and the strength of communication between musicians and children. These concerts are appropriate for children from 6-12 years old.
