"This was Newfoundland 1940.. about 100,000 Americans moved through 'the country of Newfoundland' in those days and built 6 military bases there in preparation for WW2... and the military came replete with 'military musicians'... Dad was a manager of the Non Commissioned Officers Club... 'beer and bands'... 😆...and the list of greats who came there to entertain the troops during that period was amazing... from Sinatra to Goodman, Artie Shaw and on and on... I actually have a photo of Sinatra there... Dad also worked handling munitions unloading from smaller boats to bigger ships and convoys... he was 20 years old. Johnny Francis and The Mellotones... and the Old Killarney Band... and his Orchestra... depended on whether he was playing for Irish or Scots or Brits or Americans... or Liberals or Conservatives, or Catholics or Protestants... can't be too careful..." For physical events that happen at a specific time. For example a concert, or dance performance. If there are multiple shows, you can still duplicate your event to cover them all.
