Slow down, Molasses started over the summer of 2006, at first it was just a few quiet songs and day dreams of lost blues and ocean songs. A couple tepid attempts at solo shows were made, Neil was covered, so was Low. Between these shows and a few too many late night's out co-conspirators were found, first drums, and keyboards, soon enough bass and banjo, lap steel and violin. All of a sudden this little idea was a band. Now with six charter members consisting of refugees from some of Saskatoon's finest (No Birds, Carbon Dating Service, the blood lines, The Paper Kites, Fly Griffin Fly and Dumb Angel) and a rotating cast of guests. there are still the same quiet melancholy songs, but now the occasional noisy excursion or anthemic build appears, letting lo-fi indie rock songs and alt-country rave ups sit nicely next to late night lullaby's and a lazy falsetto drawl. Slow down, Molasses has released a four song st ep and will release its first full length in oct 08. We play in art galleries and cafes, dive bars and diners. We'll be on the road soon...maybe we'll meet you there.
Slow down, Molasses has had the good fortune to play with such fine folks as Chet, The Acorn, Shuyler Jansen, Great Aunt Ida, Julie Doiron, Calvin Johnson, these hands, People for Audio, torngat, plants and animals & The Weakerthans.
For physical events that happen at a specific time. For example a concert, or dance performance. If there are multiple shows, you can still duplicate your event to cover them all.
