After 10 years, four recordings and over 1,500 performances, Jason Wilson & Tabarruk have made a convincing argument that the future of reggae may well be residing right here in Canada. Not only have they played numerous times with UB40 (including on David Letterman and Conan O’Brien), Wilson’s exciting and progressivist brand of reggae has had him sharing stages (and recordings) with dozens of artists ranging from Alanis Morissette and Percy Sledge to Burning Spear and English Beat frontman Dave Wakeling. Refreshingly inventive and unwilling to just recycle the clichés of this welltravelled genre, Wilson and his talented band have broadened and redefined the meaning of reggae, taking its heartbeat rhythm to exciting new places. These guys are great!
