The Stowaways are a new Vancouver Island quartet, comprised of experienced entertainers, with a performance that demonstrates their love for Old Time fiddling, Bluegrass, sailboats, and west coast living.
With their vast repertoire, The Stowaways weave traditional bluegrass, swing, and jug band standards together seamlessly with their powerful original song-writing, tight musicianship, and four part harmonies. With a set “that has its roots in the past, but its branches growing towards innovation, The Stowaways are pure entertainment for audiences young and old” (CHFR-New Roots Show)
While the band is new, The Stowaways are all experienced performers grounded in stage presence and audience rapport. Expect to hear hard hitting instrumentals, waltzes, foot stompin’ ravers and fiddle tunes, as well as original tunes seasoned with a west coast humour and typically, a funny story.
From the deck of a sea swept boat, to any summer festival, The Stowaways are sure to entertain.
Wind Powered Tour Summer 2011
Tired of long roads, vehicle breakdowns, and the price of gas the stowaways are doing things a little more sustainably this summer. They are battening the hatches and taking to the high seas on a Wind Powered Tour of the West Coast. With a few sailboats, a crew of good friends, and a whole lot of stringed instruments, they are going to be dropping anchor, and playing tunes in the Gulf Islands and Southern Vancouver Island from June to August 2011. We are currently touring to support and promote this ‘sustainable music’ tour. For more information please contact
For physical events that happen at a specific time. For example a concert, or dance performance. If there are multiple shows, you can still duplicate your event to cover them all.
