Drumheller

If Canada could be said to have a freeform-improv supergroup, that ensemble would have to be Toronto’s quintet Drumheller who, with humour and fierce energy, walk a very quirky line between free improvisation and formal composition. Although they start out at the edges of standard post-bop jazz, these multi-dimensional musicians draw on punk, folk, and groove as texture for their magical musical tour. Drumheller is guitarist Eric Chenaux, bassist Rob Clutton, drummer Nick Fraser, trombonist Doug Tielli and alto saxist Brodie West.
