Raised according to Inuit tradition, Elisapie Isaac has always benefited from the dual cultures she inherited (her mother was Inuk, her father was from Newfoundland). Very much in tune with the natural rhythms of the north, Isaac always had music as part of her life, from religious hymns to singing in her uncle’s famed folk-rock gospel group. A radio host at 15, Isaac discovered a flair for communication, eventually seeking media training in Montreal. Awards followed, as did work with the NFB. She rediscovered her music a decade ago, and Isaac’s emotionally rich and deeply authentic “polar folk-pop”, as heard on her 2009 album There Will Be Stars, has won her international acclaim and many fans. Accompanying her will be Manuel Gasse keyboards/bass/percussion/guitar/vocals and Gabriel Gratton keyboards/guitar/ percussion/vocals. “Isaac delivers an inspired collection of songs that highlighther poetic talent as a songwriter and establish her as an extraordinary singer.” –Ottawa Xpress
