Larry Roy/Steve Kirby Quartet

Guitarist Larry Roy is one of Canada’s most highly sought-after session players, with credentials that include performances with James Carter and Ron Paley. Long time band mate Steve Kirby is a gifted bassist whose residency in NYC saw him gigging with such luminaries as Elvin Jones, Cyrus Chestnut and Joe Lovano. Currently based in Winnipeg, Roy and Kirby play a brand of jazz that is soulful and muscular. Both men have several records to their credit individually, but only recently brought out their own debut CD, Wicked Grin. Their rhythm section includes Will Bonness piano and for this tour special guest Terreon Gully drums from Illinois.
