A New Play by Simon Stephens

DESCRIPTION:
“The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time” is a play by Simon Stephens adapted from Mark Haddon’s 2003 best-selling novel. The play has won multiple awards for productions on the London Stage and on Broadway. The play follows 15-year-old Christopher who has an extraordinary brain; he is exceptionally intelligent but ill-equipped to interpret everyday life. When he falls under suspicion for killing his neighbour’s dog, he sets out to identify the true culprit, which leads to an earth-shattering discovery and a journey that will change his life forever.
The Mercury Players will use every tool at their disposal to make the audience experience what Christopher experiences: choreographed movements of the entire cast, various special lighting effects, projections, surround sound, maybe even some smoke and mirrors. Not only is this a gripping show with wit and drama, but it will also be an audio-visual spectacle unlike any the Mercury Theatre audience has seen before.
The cast of 10 experienced Cowichan Valley actors are keen to give their very best and bring this epic story to our community.
The Mercury Player production is directed by Rien Vesseur who recently appeared in Almost Maine, The Merry Wives of Windsor and directed Anatomy of Grey in 2018.
