Bio: My father was a working jazz drummer in England and Victoria from the 1940s to roughly the 1970s. In 1973, when I was about 13, my father taught me to play drums. I played in a few bands as a young adult during the 70s and 80s. In the late 90s, I took an introductory jazz drumming course and started taking summer jazz workshops held at the Victoria Conservatory of Music as well as summer jazz workshops at Malaspina University College.
