Bill Sample April 27, 2006

JazzFest International 2006 rolled out the complete program for it's 10 day festival June 23-July 2 and one of the many shows featured is local music legend Bill Sample performing June 24 at the Central Bar & Grill with the group Leonard and Sample. But wait, there's more. With the group will be another musical master from Victoria, bassist Brian Newcombe. A lot more to come on the festival leading up to the big event but if you want to see Bill & Brian, I would be getting my tickets real quick cause there's only 300 seats so don't delay and let's all have a good old night out together.

Todays band addition: Jazz Wall

A BIG SCORE

The Royal City Music Project was recently invited to the home of a local musician to view some memoriblia. Low and behold over 2 dozen reel to reel audio tapes were shown to us with everything from todays band addition Jazz Wall at the UVic Centre auditorium in 1973 to a Mount Douglas Park concert August 13, 1972 with Frendlin Page & Cold Sweat.

Get ready as we prepare to move the entire project up another notch over the coming months.
