Bob Caldwell January 1, 2018
Bob Caldwell started his career on the drums in Victoria with the group Earthbound, a progressive rock band playing lots of Yes, Genesis, King Crimson, ELP and the like along with Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple songs. They performed at the first "Last Tango" in Victoria with Sugar Cane & Holy Smoke, and the Mount Doug Rock Festival in July of 1974. Managed by Dave Ringland in Victoria, until relocating to Vancouver in 1975 and with personnel changes, would become managed by Bruce Allen. Bob now resides in Ladner and co-founded high tech band "Digital Guise" and "Percussionworks", an ethnic/world music percussion group. Both bands tour around the province doing festivals, etc. Still involved with his original band Earthbound, performing concerts occasionally in the lower mainland, Bob currently is music director at Douglas College and teaches percussion and drums at Kwantlen University College and Trinity Western University. Over his career in music, Bob has also performed with the groups Pegasus, "Current Figures" and The Victoria and Vancouver Symphony Orchestras.
