Ross Damude August 1, 2015

Ross's professional career began over 40 years ago during the 1970's, a very fruitful period in Victoria’s contemporary music scene, playing with bands like Jacob, Slam, Cold Sweat, and the legendary Holy Smoke. He then headed to Vancouver for many years as a band member with Handley Page and Broken Hearts, a sideman with various artists, and a session player working closely in the studio with guitarist/producer Brian McLeod of Chilliwack/Headpins fame along with multiple emmy nominee, singer Rick Livingstone of 90's super group “The Best”, first in Vancouver and later relocating to Los Angeles. After 2 years in California, Ross returned to Canada settling outside of Edmonton Alberta and spent 8 years in a true labour of love, co-managing "Wide Mouth Mason" and co-producing their 2005 CD “Shot Down Satellites”. During this time he played twice at Switzerland's prestigious Montreaux Jazz Festival in the “Jazz Cafe” and also collaborated with bassist Ken Sherwood and promoter Glenn Parfitt to create the Royal City Music Project website, Victoria's history of contemporary music. Today Ross lives back in Victoria and shares his experience via teaching and artist development but is very active as a player, both live and in studio, writing and recording his own songs and collaborations with his very talented friends both old and new!
