A Night At The Sunset Cabaret February 22, 2012

Wouldn't you like to have been a fly on the wall at the Sunset Cabaret in 1983? Well, how about a camera in the ceiling as we bring you our last video of our 9th anniversary celebration of the website. On boxing day in 1983, club manager Al Edwards convinced the band Holy Smoke to get back together after a 6 year hiatus. Today's video is not just 1 song, but most of the set from that night. This video has never been shown in it's entirety publicly until today. This week is Heritage Week in Victoria and on Thursday February 23, 7:30pm at the James Bay New Horizons Centre 234 Menzies St. in Victoria , Ken Johnson President of the Hallmark Heritage Society will be giving a presentation on the History of Beacon Hill Park including Victoria's first "Love In" with pictures from the Royal City Music Project provided by Harry Creech. Hey, it's always been about the love!

Today video addition: Holy Smoke December 26 1983 Sunset Cabaret (this is a very large slow loading video but worth it!) and Uncle Wiggly's Hot Shoes Blues Band 2010 Reunion Tour Clip (some funky hat shots). The Holy Smoke video will only be available until 12:00 noon February 29, then it'll go back into the vault.
