Bakerloo Line October 1, 2011
Today's picture comes from David Lloyd Glover who attached the following info, "I found this photo in my old archive.
The Bakerloo Line was Terry Findlay, Bourke Findlay and Ron Flatman. This photo was taken May 24, 1966. The location was at the hoarding surrounding the Royal British Columbia Museum that was just being built at the time. I took over two panels and painted a promo for my newly formed band. We had just made an appearance at the Victoria Day Parade that ended on Belleville Street. So we headed over to my panels for a band shot. This was just before all the band costumes were finished so they looked fairly conservative in this early photo. Ron was just discharged from the RCN so he still had the "navy cut" That of course grew out and later the band's gear was delivered from the tailors and they were wearing complete paisley Edwardian tailored suits. We had modelled the band loosely on the Who. The most unique thing about
The Bakerloo Line was that they were an originals band rather than the usual covers group. It both worked well with their fan base but also was a problem when booking the club dates". Our thanks to David Lloyd Glover, Jon Reay, and Randy Cross for the updates.
