Arriving in Victoria first in 1939 riding his Harley Davidson, Fred made an immediate impact on local music playing all the venues like the Sirroco Club and the "Goblin Night Club" on Oak Bay Avenue. In 1945 he joined CJVI as a studio musician and producer, During the same year he formed the group "Fred Usher & The Hometowners. Fred was also instrumental in starting the annual Oak Bay Tea Party. Fred will be inducted into the Victoria Music Hall of Fame this Sunday September 20th.
