Walk Don't Run April 18, 2008

On Friday August 17th, 1962, The Ventures were booked to play at the Ladysmith Agricultural Hall as the headline act on a bill that included Shane, The Gems and The Pharaohs. As the night went on the Ventures were nowhere insight. As it turned out, 2 of them got left at the border crossing while Nokie Edwards and Don Wilson carried on to Ladysmith and eventually played at the end of the night with a couple members of the opening act. A HUGE thanks to Ron Attfield from The Pharaohs for taking his Brownie camera to the gig and keeping the pictures all this time. He already gave us the poster and a radio commercial for the gig which is on the website, so this completes the memories from almost 46 years ago.

What's next Ron? Bobby Curtola you say?
