No Booze! January 31, 2008

Todays picture was taken during prohibition and it's George Robinson of Robinson's Bicycle Shop (later Robinson's Sporting Goods) knocking on the door of Mrs. Ethel Parfitt, asking her to sign the petition against the availability of liquor in Victoria. Thankfully we all know where that ended up (whew). Did you know that Victoria had a great fire near the turn of the last century? Also in todays updates, construction of the Hook Sin Fong building in Chinatown.
