What Really Happened May 22, 2007
Let the truth be told that that Victoria's First Love In was held in Beacon Hill Park, April 30th 1967, not March of 1966 as previous recorded by the Royal City Music Project and not the Beacon Hill Park Historical Society's recorded date of May 21, 1967. However, May 21, 1967 was Victoria's First "Official" Love In. In fact, it was also recorded as Canada's first Love In. It's all in todays updates thanks to Gary Wilcox, editor of Off Beat Magazine, which for those of you who don't know, preceded both the Georgia Strait and Rolling Stone magazines. Todays picture was taken by Tom Gore and the article was written by Gil (Doc) Harris. Below are the bands that played both events:
April 30, 1967 Blues X Five, Lost Souls & Hydro Electric Street Car.
May 21, 1967 Blues X Five, Lost Souls, City of Drawers, Marquis, Double Breasted Galvanized Jazz Whistle and the Hillside Grass Band.

Todays band addition: Hillside Grass Band (anyone have any info on this one?)
