It's Not Unusual May 1, 2007
In August 1965, a battle of the bands was held at the new Mayfair Mall. Participants over the two day event included The Motifs, The Regents, The Pharaohs, The Take Four, The Esquires, The Coachman, The Gary Lee Group, The Broomtown Band and Bobby Faulds & The Strangers. The winner, Bobby Faulds & The Strangers, received a recording contract with RCA International for a 6 song EP. From those recordings, they released a 45 rpm. So what ever happened to the master tapes? Well, thanks to Bill Stewart and Brian Newcombe they have re-appered after a 42 year hiatus. Today will be the first of 6 updates in a row that features these forgotten treasures ... enjoy!
