Late Edition November 30, 2006
It was touted to be the biggest and best Vancouver festival in 1969 but got cancelled. Our thanks to Tony Else's brother-in-law who gave us not 1, but 3 actual tickets to the show that never happened. Want to know who was on the bill? Steppenwolf, Jimi Hendrix, Jethro Tull and many many more. Follow the link below to see the Bob Masse poster.
Thunderbird Peace Festival
Speaking of Jimi Hendrix, this Sunday at 2:05 pm Lightning Lenny Siemens will be a guest on the popular CFAX show "Remember When" hosted by Glenn Parfitt. Before moving to the island in 1964, Len was playing in downtown Vancouver nightclubs and would be studied by novice and professional players alike because of his brilliant playing style, and yes, Jimi was one of them. Tune in and listen to this exclusive interview before Len steps on stage at Darcy's Pub just after 3:00p and puts on a guitar playing clinic. Why not drop by with a non-perishable food item for the Mustard Seed Food Bank and enjoy the fun. It all kicks off at 1:00pm.
