It's official, here are the 2006 Victoria Rock & Roll Music Hall of Fame inductees starting with Norm Winquist featured in todays picture. He was a great teacher to many local guitarist's and now has his rightful place in the Hall of Fame. Added to the list are Jim Smith, Victoria's original rock & roller and six members of "The Apaches" including vocalist B J Cook the city's "First Lady" of rock & roll, guitarist's Barry Jackson/Ensign & Duane Cameron, bassist's Gord Davies & Wayne Budd along with saxophonist Wes Chambers. They'll join three of their bandmates Terry Budd, Art Horsman & Rich England inducted last year as members of "The Pharaohs". Congratulations to all eight musicians. This year the Hall of Fame will also induct the "Club Tango" and it's creator Ian Diment in a special tribute. The celebrations all happen at Darcy's Pub, Sunday September 17 with the doors opening at 11:30am and the induction ceremony starting at 1:00p. The band will be "The Essentials" featuring Harry and Darcy Creech along with Dave Balam. Ticket information available in the next "What's New" update.
