I am a blues/jazz singer looking to start a new project with a piano player.

I sing locally with a well established working cover band and other original bands from time to time.

I'm looking to start a new smaller project to pick up more gigs and introduce a more diverse repetoire.

I'm looking for a piano player of any age but of a high standard. It's likely that you'll need to transpose keys etc and be able to communicate with other guest players (bass/drums mainly) when necessary.

Initially, I aim to put together a 2/2.5 hour set of jazz, blues and soul classics with some more modern songs thrown in.

I'd like a rehearsal a week to begin with moving to a less regular schedule once songs are down and gigs begin. I'd like a gig a month but am prepared to see what the economy and the island vibe allows for. I'm looking mainly at hotel gigs, vineyards and private functions. I have great contacts as I currently play a lot of these places on a regular basis with bigger bands.

I'm happy to provide a demo if requested or you can come and see me gig at hermans in a few weeks OR I can sing down the phone to you - whatever works!

I've been singing for about 10 years now, am classically trained but am essentially a soul singer with blues and jazz tendencies.

Look forward to hearing from you!

Hi Amber,
saw your ad and i might be interested, especially if you have connections for plum gigs. I backed up many singers, some solo, some ensemble. Can transpose no problem and play the genres you're looking for.
Are you singing somewhere in the near future I might be able to attend? Let me know...Amy - Thu, 7 May 2009 1:59pm

Amy, I am so sorry, I didn't get notification of this reply, thanks so much for your response.....

I have played a bunch of gigs since you posted this response! I haven't got too much coming up - mainly private gigs with the big band I'm in.....
if you get this, email me at my gmail account which should be displayed and we can chat some more

Take Care
