Hi, I'm going to have a lot more time to start getting back into music starting in April as school is finally winding up for me. I would like to find some like-minded musicians with intentions of starting a band or collective of creative individuals. It all starts with jamming. I have been playing guitar for about 6-7 years. Played piano since I was a kid. I'm 25, I have gear and transportation. I will list a few bands/artists I am into. I love most music but, if you really love some of the stuff I list here, then we should have some of the same creative inspirations.....and if you are old enough to get the title of the post, we might be around the same age..

Neil Young , John Frusciante, Deathcab For Cutie, Cursive, Mute Math, Foals, Daft Punk, MGMT, My Morning Jacket, Modest Mouse, Feist, Radiohead, Cold War Kids, Tokyo Police, Band of Horses, Does It Offend You, Yeah?, Emily Haines, K-OS, Mogwai, Appleseed Cast...

That is the stuff that I would say has been influencing me sonically as of late. I really love musical improv and jamming/grooving out. If you can adapt to what someone is playing and challenge them back with something fresh that is going to be key. I'm looking for anything in the string and horns sections. I definitely want the backbone to be a drum kit and bass. Synth/knob&dial/keys player would be nice. I will keep my options open to anyone that is interested.

E-mail me if you're interested. Samples of anything you have recorded are appreciated, all skill levels considered. I'm just looking for some creative mofos willing to work hard to create some art we can share and be proud of!

I lost most of my recorded stuff, but here is a really old recording of me trying out a pedal I bought off LiveVic about 4 years ago...

Pretty sloppy, repetitive, and lots of clams, but that will give you at least an idea of my playing of 4 years ago..

Hope to hear from some cool people soon....good luck with your music/art.. - Thu, 26 Mar 2009 1:30am
