We the Frontiersman Pub are holding our 2nd annual BATTLE OF THE BANDS this labour day weekend August 29th to September 1st.

We need bands to enter to compete for cash prizes, trophies and studio recording time. Each band only plays 1 set a day, Fri, Sat, and Sun. with the finals on Monday. The cost per band is only $50 for the whole weekend. Each band will never be judged by the same judge twice. Partial proceeds go to the winning bands choice of charity. NP we'll just give the $1200 cash prize for first place to someone else. There is also 2nd and third cash prizes. As for free entertainment huh, your wrong, totally! If you only knew how much freakin work it take to put something like this together then you can say (Free Entertainment).

its funny how many people slag battle of the bands because its doesn't a)pay out the band(generally speaking) b)its considered pure profit for the bar.
The way I see it is that up and coming bands who wouldn't normally get as much exposure will have a chance to meet other bands with the same intentions. And who knows, maybe more shows in the future. For me, not being a complete career musician but still being accomplished at what I do; sounds like fun. But to each their own.
The only thing I dont really agree with is the band having to pay an entry fee to play. None of the B.O.B.'s i've played back in the day EVER had a cost to the band. That's what sponsors are for ;) - Sat, 9 Aug 2008 1:06pm
