EchoHead User Info... | Hey, these are the essential guitarists I like. Atmospheric, amibient, cool groove rock (kinda pop too). Any bands out there looking for fun jams on this kind of music. Feel free to email, or leave a message here... I am pretty much as old as all of these guys, though not Mike Campbell, he's more than a decade older than I... - Tue, 10 Jul 2007 3:06pm
Whitford St. Holmes User Info... | I had to look up who Johnny Buckland is- he's that guy in Coldplay. I like all those players. Good luck in your search! Hey, shouldn't it be 'decade older than ME'? I mean, it's an objective pronoun, right, following a comparative conjunction which functions as a preposition? Still, kudos for employing 'ambient' in a post! :) - Fri, 13 Jul 2007 11:06pm
EchoHead User Info... | Thanks Whitford. Actually the "am" is understood and therefore unnecessary. Do you say, "He is more than a decade older than me am?" or Glenn liked Chuck's new AC30 head more than me. (did) or Glenn liked Chuck's new AC30 head more than I. (did) I think the latter is correct. Hey, when is the next Sutcliff's gig not at the Fernwood? - Sat, 14 Jul 2007 10:27am
Whitford St. Holmes User Info... | Well, your explanation is cogent and I concede that given your rationale it is certainly acceptable. It is (according to my research) more of a question of consistent style and usage, so we're both correct. We'll settle it at the next grammar rodeo, and if I'm in error I shall play three U2 discs back to back as a form of recompense and/or punishment. And the Sutcliffes (please, note the spelling!) will also be at Swans in August, with a few other venues creeping into the lineup for your listening and dancing pleasure! - Sat, 14 Jul 2007 2:37pm Edited: Sat, 14 Jul 2007 3:04pm
EchoHead User Info... | Swan's good. That pleases I. - Sat, 14 Jul 2007 3:15pm
