| ::Saint:: User Info... | The Black Orchid Rebellion is looking for a drummer to play some really solid alternative-rock and a mix of styles from heavy grunge to Beatles-esque. We have a veritable library of really solid songs to work off of, and a freakin' awesome song-writer (not me). But at the moment we are sans-drummer. We are looking at getting into some serious gigging around Victoria (and hopefully beyond) as well as getting some recordings together. We're dedicated, and so should our future drummer be! But we're also cool people. Age wise, we are 27 and 26 .. and as long as you are old enough to get into venues (let's say over-20 as a general guideline) and are able to play hard when you need to, and not-so-hard when you don't, we'd like to get to know you. If you happen to be of a Christian-minded persuasion that's a bonus, but not a deal-breaker if you're not, so long as you're open to hearing about it, and in all probability playing music that deals with similar themes. We don't have as much experience as you do with all of the playing around BC, etc, and we are in a stage of getting our feet, learning to play the songs, together ,etc. So if you can handle joining up in this early stage and being a part of the formative process that would be cool. First thing for you to do is probably go listen to the songs on the myspace page and let us know if our style is something you are interested in doing -- you can respond here or email us, or both, whichever works best for you, and we'll arrange a time to get together and see what comes. - Mon, 30 Oct 2006 1:21pm | ||
| ::saint:: User Info... | Well, haven't heard back, which is fair enough. Looking at some of the Sweathogz stuff I think that there would have been some conflict of personalities and probably musical styles as well. One thing to add, for all your prospective drummers out there is that we are not interested in big-time partiers, drunkards, prima donnas, divas, big egos, people who are going to be toking up / getting drunk all the time (we're just not into that stuff, and we don't want to be promoting it), and musicans who are not willing to take direction, follow other people's lead when necessary, and play music that they may not have personally written. Basically, we're a lot more interested in personality and fit than anything else.. as long as you have some talent, technique, polish, etc can be learned, but a good personality can't. - Wed, 1 Nov 2006 11:55am Edited: Wed, 1 Nov 2006 11:56am | ||
