Anyone here into Nu-Jazz, Medeski Martin & Wood, maybe St Germain? Acid Jazz (not the poppy stuff, the groovy stuff)

Sort of vamp-y, acessible faux-jazzy, funky & urban...deep grooves, heavy on feel etc

Is anyone in victoria doing this currently?

looking for a bass player?

or want to get something going?

I'm thinking:
- keys (ep, rhodes, hammond, whatever)
- bass
- guitar
- vocals
- damn solid drums

post here & I'll contact you... - Tue, 24 Oct 2006 5:31pm Edited: Tue, 24 Oct 2006 5:32pm

I would be interested (especially in the MMW part). I play stand-up and electric.
Sort of vamp-y, acessible faux-jazzy, funky & urban...deep grooves, heavy on feel etc...sounds perfect.

What do you play? - Wed, 25 Oct 2006 10:52pm

I play Rhodes, Wurlitzer, and Clavinet, but while I may like MMW I'm sure as hell not John Medeski. Still, I'd certainly be interested in jamming and seeing what happened... - Wed, 8 Nov 2006 10:10pm

sounds like a cool project...I would be interested in jamming. I have similar jazz / lounge project with an oud player -might be good to combine forces if your interested in pushing the envelope of mmw stuff.

An oud player? Rawk on. I've wanted to play with an Oud player ever since I got the new Club D'Elf album. (Bass, Drums, Oud, and everybody who is everybody as a guest star.) - Sat, 11 Nov 2006 6:11pm
