Looking for an experienced, well dedicated Electric Guitarist. Anyone who knows how to jam and play originals and simple rock tunes, please reply to this add. Our CS Band is looking for an Electric guitar player who is willing to commit to evening practices and audition. carolinespence.com

Hi folks! Yes, looking for a solid guitar player - who is looking for a serious project. We want to get our music to the point where we can record, we also have some cool show opps - so we want someone who can commit to a longer term, so we can make plans, etc.

We have drums, bass, keys, violin, harmonies and a nice practice space -- we just need that special person to complete the line up.

We want people who are serious -- and who are really nice people as well. We are being really picky - and we don't want drop in players anymore. We want someone on the same wavelength as us, and who wants to create something really special for other people to listen to and connect with.

We have a very eclectic mix of songs from pop/folk/rock to gothic ethereal to jazz/blues. Each person in the band brings 'their thing' - so everyone has a role - we are a team.

This is a strong role for someone who is creative and has good leadership and music skills. We have a very experienced drummer and bass player who want a guitar player that inspires them.

Influences - lots - from 80's new wave/goth to 70's prog rock to 50's jazz and blues to some very eclectic independent music.

We are into creating something really great - and not doing it half-assed.

We want to create something special and we want the right person to do that with. We want to make a difference in the world through our music.

Ok... have a great day -- CS :D

P.S. You must also have a good sense of humour and like dogs. :D

P.P.S. We currently rehearse 2 nights a week.

I play guitar...over 25 years. Call me @ 598-9940 and leave message. I'm a shift worker (days one week and nights the next). I'm really picky who I respond to even after they call. There's no I in team... or was it...

Hmmm...I don't know if I agree with that. I think a team is made up of a bunch of wonderful 'I's. Each person bringing something that is uniquely beautiful and uniquely them. And together each 'I' makes an entity that works together as a team and helps each 'I' (including themselves) bring out their best, and find their own voice and reach their own potential.

It's like taking care of 'I' -- and the 'other' 'I's around you --

and that becomes a TEAM.

So to me, a TEAM is full of 'I's -- eyes that SEE each other. See and be seen.

If we are constantly trying to bring out the best in our selves and in each other and supporting and being kind to one another and sharing the work of a project, it becomes a beautiful thing.

So yeah, there is room for 'I' - because what 'I' bring and what 'you' bring, is what makes the magic happen. Respect, self-responsibility, growth - all 'I' things that make a team work. Also being able to say '*I* need help' to one another. Or '*I*'m sorry', etc. etc.

I personally think it's a glorious thing when each person who makes up a team is proud of their contribution and can say '*I* did that', '*I* am an important part of that' and feel really good about themselves. That makes me happy, to see other people happy and feeling appreciated.

It's when there's only one 'I', or 'eyes that only see themselves' then that's a problem. :D

I'm so Zen tonight... :D haha

Take care, all! And thanks for all the e-mail replies! Talk to everyone soon! :D - Wed, 1 Mar 2006 11:47pm

Hey Pete. No offence intended. I guess I thought you were making some slight poke at me, since I *was* one of those people that called you and set up a time to meet - and then you never showed up. So I thought maybe I'd given you some idea that I wasn't all about team or something. When I am. :D

Anyway, I wish you very well. We really were excited about having you come out to play with us - and really disappointed when you didn't come out.

No hard feelings or anything... I guess you just forgot that you already decided you weren't interested in us before.

Take care... - Sat, 18 Mar 2006 6:23pm Edited: Sat, 18 Mar 2006 6:30pm

My apologies, I have had a LOT on my plate lately. You'll find that if we were to arrange another time that I would do everything in my power to attend. Care to try again...

Hey Caroline... you know I can't commit or play guitar too well, but I just wanted to remind you that I'd be happy to do another remix/whatever for you anytime!

You should check out my new track, it's up on http://www.myspace.com/escapefromwherever - I hope you don't mind, but the song we did together is up there too... (the full credits are listed, and I used my original mix & not the fancy remastered one you had done up)

PS: You should see our new jam-spot! - Tue, 21 Mar 2006 2:00pm Edited: Tue, 21 Mar 2006 2:04pm

Coleman, man, you are so super duper talented and I love your stuff so much! I am so honoured that you would think of me -- and of course, when we record - you're included! :D I want Coleman remixes of everything! :D

And I still want to cover that song. It plays in my head a lot. You know the one I mean!

TTYS! :D

P.S. Remember me when you are famous
P.P.S. I *heard* that the jamspot was fantabulous! Cool!
P.P.P.S. You can use the mastered version wherever you want, that's what it's for. :D - Tue, 21 Mar 2006 4:50pm Edited: Tue, 21 Mar 2006 4:57pm

Aww shucks Caroline, you're too kind!

And if you're talking about eye-witness reports from Laura: the Jam room has been moved to a new room about twice the size as the old one in order to accomodate the new drumset :D - Wed, 22 Mar 2006 12:37pm Edited: Wed, 22 Mar 2006 12:39pm

Hi Pete! I thought this thread was long gone! :D

Anyway, before you even posted the last time, we were already at the point of choosing between a final few people. I've got you on our phone number list to call if our choices don't pan out, as we're all still working through that process with those people. No worries! It's just not fair to add new people at this point. Thank you for being interested. And for anyone else who is still interested, I can add you to a waiting list, but there are no further audition openings at this time.

You all know how it goes, I'm sure. It's not just who we pick, but the people who really want to be in the band. That takes a little while to figure out. And no hard feelings either way, kind of thing. We are looking for someone long term, so it's a big commitment.

Thanks to everyone who did reply. The response was overwhelming and positive. We met a lot of great people. Lots of talent and good attitudes in this city.

Thanks Nev for having such a great tool for finding great people to play with. :D - Fri, 7 Apr 2006 10:27am Edited: Fri, 7 Apr 2006 10:47am
