A BLEND OF ISLAND COUNTRY AND SOULFUL LYRICS IS WHAT YOU GET WITH A JAIMEY HAMILTON TRACK.
Born in a seaside town on Canada’s pacific west coast, emerging Canadian pop-country artist Jaimey Hamilton. With influences such as Taylor Swift, Hailey Whitters, Carly Pearce and Miranda Lambert, she places emphasis on sharing her raw, vivid life experiences in her songs. This is contrasted by her low-tempo melodies that are sure to draw you in from the start.

Her story is also one of resilience. By the age of twelve, she had been diagnosed with Leukemia three times and survived a bone marrow transplant. During her darkest hours, she turned to her passion for songwriting. As she stated, Lots of time spent in hospital meant having to give up a lot of things including school, sports and friends. Music was the one thing that was always there for me and kept me inspired. It was a healing outlet for me.” Her song, “Survive” (producer Adam Alexander) documents this battle and offers hope & strength to those who have faced cancer and childhood trauma themselves. The song earned her a feature on CTV News Vancouver Island in 2017 and Jaimey donated part of the proceeds earned from the song to the Children’s Wish Foundation.

In 2018, Jaimey recorded her debut 7-track EP “Parachute” produced in Toronto’s Diamond Factory Studios. This was followed by her debut music video (Directed by Josh Vasseur) for the title track which was filmed in the beautiful Victoria, BC. She has also previously collaborated with Juno Award Nominee singer/songwriter Scotty Hills (EP-The Gas and the Clutch) and country artist Rod Black (#1 iTunes single, “Walk On”-- Top 100 Country Singles Chart (South Africa)).

To date, Jaimey has played a wide range of events across BC, including the Sunfest Festival, 2018 Island Folk Festival, 2019 Rock for a Reason and played the Main Stage at the Parliament buildings in Victoria on Canada Day, where she was then awarded the 2018 Coast Capital Saving Youth Band Winner. The young artist has also been featured in several publications, including Victoria’s Times Columnist in 2019.

In 2020, focused on the silver lining of the pandemic, utilising the additional time she gained to hone her craft and refine her unique sound. As she added, “It has never been easier for artists to connect and collaborate through zoom calls and since the pandemic I have met so many amazing artists through zoom writes and livestreams. I have written many songs both through collaboration and on my own throughout this past year.”

In 2021 she had the amazing opportunity of virtually attending and showcasing her music at the Canadian Music Week and Boots and Hearts Emerging Artist Showcase. She graduated in April with a Certificate in Music Performance through Camosun College at the Victoria Conservatory of Music.

In October 2021, Jaimey released her newest single, Save a Barstool for Me (Recorded at Barnhouse Studios in Qualicum, BC). Jaimey continues to work hard on new material as she paves her own path in contemporary country.
