Miss Emily Fennell has done it again. The revered Kingston singer-songwriter—much admired by her her fans and music industry peers alike—has landed another Maple Blues Awards nomination.

In 2020, Miss Emily won three Maple Blues Awards and in 2022, she won again for Female Vocalist of the Year, for which she's now been nominated in 2024. The other nominees in the running are Crystal Shawanda, Shakura S'Aida, Meghan Parnell and Dawn Tyler Watson. Maple Blues Awards winners are determined by public votes cast online.

"Thanks to the nominating panel for this honour," said Miss Emily in a email statement. "I love what I do and I’m humbled to be recognized with so many of my favourite talented people."

In 2022, Miss Emily was also nominated for a JUNO Award for her album "Live at the Isabel," recorded in Kingston at the Isabel Bader Centre for the Performing Arts and released on October 30, 2020.

An initiative of the Toronto Blues Society, the Maple Blues Awards is Canada’s national blues awards program, intended to promote blues music and recognize outstanding Canadian blues musicians and works.

Nominees for the Maple Blues Awards are selected by a distinguished panel of some 40+ blues experts who form the Nominating Panel. Winners in all categories (excluding the instrumental categories) are decided by blues fans across Canada.

Maple Blues Awards nominees and winners will be honoured gala ceremony on Monday, February 12, 2024 at The Phoenix Concert Theatre in Toronto.
