Event Description

Dan Weisenberger hosts the first of a monthly night of Finger Picking god.

Featuring...

EVAN CHEADLE - Cheadle’s intricate guitar picking and delicate vocals instantly transport listeners to a diverse musical world inhabited by the likes of Bert Jansch, Big Bill Broonzy, John Fahey, and Nick Drake. all-the-while avoiding nostalgia’s tepid waters; Cheadle, it seems, stands outside of time. - Excerpt from Between Solitudes: In Conversation with Evan Cheadle analogue magazine

'TOO TALL' KEN HALL - Ken Hall is a west coast guitarist and flute player who was born in Toronto. He studied composition at the Royal Conservatory of Music with Samuel Dolin. Originally a piano player, he switched his attention to the guitar when he moved to Vancouver in 1968 where he became involved with the folk and blues scene. In 1974, he traveled to Europe and studied flamenco guitar in Spain before spending 6 months in Morocco, learning the Oud and Ney flute. In 1984 he moved to Victoria and has been playing world music in many groups including, Kumbia (latin dance band), Sunyata (gypsy flamenco), Kettle of Fish (celtic), Sara Marreiros (Portugese Fado) Blue Morroco (Algerian Rai).

DAN WEISENBERGER - Dan is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and composer who has travelled throughout North America and much of Europe, playing everything from street corners to concert halls. Besides composing music for television, radio and stage, he has played slide and acoustic guitars and electric mandola on recordings with Leeroy Stagger and Jeremy Fisher, steel and other guitars on a collection of Hawaiian inspired songs sung by Ryan Beattie of the band Chet, and Portuguese guitarra with fado singer Sara Marreiros.

Each month Dan will be joined by a couple of special guests. Together they will dazzle, they will amaze and they will make you happy to have ears.
