"Mobile in the mountains transmitting roadside - he made his nightly broadcast Vancouver city wide - coming in so clear coming in 5 x 5 - he took on the Radio Kings with the airwaves in the sky."

Words and music by the band East Van Eye - this lyric was written by Brent Truitt who was inspired by a pirate radio DJ in Vancouver who successfully used his van to avoid the authorities (for awhile).

LYRICS

Dennis had a panel van
He stripped and customized
It became a source of power
For his source of pride
Mobile in the mountains
Transmitting from roadside
He made his nightly broadcast
Vancouver city wide

Comin' in so clear comin' in 5 x 6
He took on The Radio Kings
With the airwaves in the sky

Well he played every music
Didn't tack on any labels
From Jerry Lee to the three great B's
Off those old turntables
And Dennis never hurt no one
Had no hate in his format
No political agenda
He had no passion for that

As free as free can be
Like a bird that's born to fly
He took in The Radio Kings
With the airwaves in the sky

He always moved in the nick of time
Like a game he loved to play
The D.O.C was at a loss
How he kept them all at bay
One clear night he met his match
With the new technology
They traced him down on the spot
And he was history

Well they used him for example
When he was penalized
He took on The Radio Kings
He took on The Radio Kings
With the airwaves in the sky
