Inspired by a song written by Dave Harris, Sharon Wadsworth and Dave decided to create a yearly event to commemorate living Victoria blues musicians. Each year a select group will be honoured. The Honourees are chosen based on history in the scene, seniority and their accomplishments. Also remembered at these events are those who have passed in the past year and/or who put the blues scene together including Ken Preston, Roy Rhymer, Robbert Smits, Maureen Rhymer, Ed Kirmsie, Keith Bennett and Charlie Gowen. The event is held in March in remembrance the Godfather of Victoria Blues, the late John Fisher. The Honourees will perform, as will others from the scene. A slide show is presented and a silent auction helps fund the event. A CD of Victoria Blues is given away as part of the admission fee.
