Ok, it's time to get this going. I've been writing and working on tunes for the last year or so, taught myself guitar so I could get my ideas out of my head, and bought a four track so I could develop them. It's getting to the point where I could spend the rest of my life trying to get them sounding good enough to play for others. I'd rather have real musicians do that, and better. I know age is a big thing around here, so I'm gonna say over 20, under 40.

Description: It's rock. I want it to be hard, but it ain't metal or emo. I know that's the most common thing around these days, so I don't want to waste anyone's time with something they aren't into.

If you go to the following link, you can download and listen to a few songs. I have easily a dozen songs of varying flavour, which gives a good running start, rather than spending six months writing new stuff. I definitely want to write new stuff, so I'm not sayin it's all about me. That's why I want a band, after a while you start sounding like yourself!

Anyways here's the URL: http://members.shaw.ca/Jasonpiao/

Constructive Criticism is more than welcome.

Like I said I know a lot of the people might not dig it, that's cool. An example of what is NOT constructive criticism is: It's total shit.

I know this place is harsh, but you guys all put a lot of energy into your music, and you know that you gotta put your balls out there even if everyone's wearin boots. - Sun, 10 Apr 2005 2:10pm

Wow, impressive. Especially your vocals. How old are you by the way?

I play guitar but Ive only been playing for 3 and a half years. I think you might want someone more experienced, but if you get no other takes, email me.

By the way, if you do any gigs in town, drop me an email, id like to check that show out.

Cheers and best of luck,

I just realized, I messed up and there were only two songs instead of three up on the site. I've fixed it and all three now play. I will add more as I can.

My last post may or may not have gotten through, in case it didn't I will re-reply.

I'm 28, and to be fair it was a digital four track so that gives a lot of flexibility. I've only been playing guitar for two, so nothing in there is complicated.

If you know anyone who's lookin, tell em to go have a listen. This could sound great with the right players... - Mon, 11 Apr 2005 9:39pm

Could only hear the mp3, no idea what the other stuff sounds like so I'm going on The Broadcaste recording .
I'd be willing if you have room for collaboration or improvement .You need more punch and accent in the axe and the end is fucked up. Beginning is good but too much dependance on verse and the end of the chorus is out of place and needs polish, you need some organization , the last part of the third chorus (just before the trailing vocals) I think could punch up the the first and second chorus , not letting the feeling go flat .

Ok there's some (I hope) constructive criticism , if you can handle that then let me know . I have the ability and the drive . - Tue, 12 Apr 2005 3:14am

2D Satan,
I hear ya man, that's totally constructive (other than the 'fucked up' part, lol). I know it can be better, that's why I want some other heads on board.

The other files were mp4 which I guess aren't as common as I thought. I only have 10mb space, so what I will do is
put up half files in mp3 so people can at least get a listen to the other stuff.

There's a lot of flavour, so you've got to be into it to make it work. - Tue, 12 Apr 2005 5:41pm

Don't get me wrong bro I like it , just see room for improvement . And when I say the end is fucked I just mean it could be approached differently . You are kind of like me , I'm sick of sitting on the side lines and need to push forward no matter what . I have made myself a time line to get my shit together so far I'm ahead in playing but by the end of the year I'm hoping to have tunes in order and get out and do some gigs . It's hard to find people who will commit or people who aren't already in a Kajillion other projects .

I need to just play bro . - Tue, 12 Apr 2005 8:44pm

Emails sent to those who have expressed interest. I just put up a sign at Long & McQuade, and the weekend's coming, so hopefully things can get rolling fast...

I also put up a new snippet called God in my head. It needs something more but it's got a nice groove. Check it out! - Thu, 14 Apr 2005 10:39pm
