| Matt S User Info... |  I'm a Bassist/Singer, looking for a band, probably at least a guitar and a drummer, but would be down for keys, or some other cool instrument I've got a bunch of songs already written, its all like rock/pop stuff, and with some more musicians it'll sound pretty tight Influences are like The red hot chili peppers, Mars Volta, Foo Fighters, Brand New... | SublimeKid User Info... | We are 21, 21 and 20.. Our music is kind of a weird mix..we have a harder sound that cuts in with softer melodies I guess..if you want to come for a jam you will probably figure it out fast. The bands we like vary so much but I listen to the ones you listed. As far as instrumental melodies go I'd say Alexisonfire, Time Spent Driving, Saosin, Mars Volta, Emery, Tiger Army...it goes on.. I don't really like to categorize but if you listen to some of those bands I think you will get the jist of the sounds we enjoy. It's all about the experimentation though so different sounds will definitely be wanting to creep in into the picture! Drummer has 8 years experience I have almost 3 on guitar and about 10 on piano...other guitarist has about 8 on guitar and 3 on piano. We can both carry tune with vocals but we will probably all want to switch off with lead vocals as well as lead instrument so that's sweet that you sing..I'm still kind of finding it hard to play complex stuff and keep a melody with my vocals. I need to practice singing and playing more. =( So there you have it! We can even just work on vocal melodies with the instruments as long as we try to have fun and make some cool sounds. Don't worry it's just a jam so we can do whatever. Show each other songs...mess around and belt out some covers. A jam is just that.
