Hey everyone.

Jaron Evil of SEASONS OF SORROW here. I am putting together a project of grim and raw corpsepainted black metal proportions with a pagan edge entitled FUNERAL FORNICATION. This was a project I started long ago, and wish to have on the side. I play guitar and sing for it, and I require a bassist, a keyboardist, a second guitarist, and a drummer. (Don't bother responding if your can't do blast beats/trigger work.) I have a good number of songs already written, and I'm ready to record this project in my studio. I could do all the instruments myself, but it'd be nice to have some different blood on it. As you can see in the above picture, I've already got the album cover art complete.

Just so you know, this is very technical material. Just to give you an idea, some of my inspirations are bands like ABSU, IMMORTAL, older VINTERSORG, BATHORY, CARPATHIAN FOREST, DIMMU BORGIR, older CRADLE OF FILTH, etc.

If you think you are mighty enough and have the chops, please contact me. Click my user info to find out how.

I should also add that a bassist with a fretless bass would be preferable. I've written lots of basslines in the style of Steve DiGiorgio (Control Denied, Death, Sadus).

I want a keyboardist who can play lots of notes very quickly. Someone with lots of classical training would be grand. Alot of the keyboard work will be ambience and alot will be creepy piano parts, and I've arranged several quick keyboard solos (ala Children Of Bodom, Rhapsody)

Everyone must have their own gear.

Hey Destroyer,

Where can I hear you play? Whats your experience? Would I know any of your previous bands? What are your influences?

I definitely need someone who can shred. I like to do alot of trade-off solo sections. Sweep-picking or just speed picking?

Hey man. Im from calgary, and to be honest, my influences are acrosss the board. I like all kinds of metal, and alot of kinds of other music. Each style of music has its great and shity bands. My most accomplished band was named Regalia. We played Rock'n'roll/metal. The band was togather for 5 years so my tastes and styles changed alot while we were togather. Near the end we were only writing epic metal tracks with farst licks and lots of parts. I have a CD we recorded but I cant put it on the computer because my cdr is down.
I havent tackeld sweep soloing yet. My shredding is pretty fast though. I can solo in more of a classic metal or shred style. As far as black metal goes, I like Amon, Immortal, Old Mans Child, just heard Vintersworg for the first time recently. They are pretty good. I mostly listen to swedish or finish thrash. I could see myself playing BM with a band and loving it but im not sure untill I try.
I cant garentee im what you're looking for but I dont think it would be a waste to jam.
I live near DT and have nights off. I look forward to hearing your response. - Wed, 8 Dec 2004 7:53pm

You've seen me play jaron, so you know my lack of shreding abilty. I would bring the pagan edge though. Along the lines of Inquisition, Hate Forest, Drudkh, Graveland, Enslaved, Belenos, Ulver........Ensifurum? Three guitars?

as far as tech-black metal is concerned, Veneficum, Sear Bliss, enthrone darkness triumphant and the new cd Dimmu Borgir, and Graveworm

ok, Nick, I just sent you an email about it,

And DestroyeR, I would definitely love to hear your stuff. I grew up on all that thrash stuff (Kreator, Sodom, Slayer, Evildead, etc). Immortal are my favorite black metal band, and Old Man's Child are pretty fuckin good. The Pagan Prosperity is a killer CD. I definitely would like to jam with you sometime to hear what you got and see how you handle my songs.

This is mainly going to be a recording project. So gigging won't happen for a while (I'm so busy right now gigging with Seasons Of Sorrow). I definitely plan on gigging with this project sooner or later however.

The recordings will take place in my recording studio in my house. I am going to have proper CDs made and have about 1000 copies printed. But all that can be discussed later.

Well you have at least one thing 100% in order: having the cd cover ready before anything else is completely in accordance with black metal laws. ;D - Sun, 12 Dec 2004 6:41pm
