| Greerkind User Info... |  Here's my credentials. Of sorts. I am 32 (though I look 25). I have been singing in bands for the last ten years. Covering all ranges from punk to glam rock to industrial to country (Old School Country, not Alan Jackson/Garth Brooks shit). I am VERY theatric and very unafraid of a crowd. I have played in front of large crowds. I listen to and appreciate a large spectrum of bands so style is ultimately dependent on the music created by those I jam with. I can/will sing what we work on that sounds good and grooves, be it heavy or melodic. I am very image conscious as well, so I don't plan on showing up for a show with a Creed shirt, blue jeans and a backwards Labatt 50 hat. I am an eager lyricist who likes to jam with a full band and take in each members input. I prefer to sing my own lyrics and let each instrumentalist add their own musical input to a song. A true band should care about the songs more than the band. The song comes first, not the band. If it needs 3 chords, we plan three chords - not Yngwie Malmsteen shredding a symphony over a Bob Dylan song (or vice versa...is that even possible?). Everyone in the band has their say. My influences are diverse: Beatles, Stones, Skinny Puppy, Kiss, Dylan, Bowie, Bauhaus, Cure, Depeche Mode, Miles Davis, Kinks, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, NWA, Robert Johnson, Zeppelin, Clapton, The Band, Tool, Jane's Addiction, Elliott Smith, Nick Drake, White Stripes, Jeff Buckley, Leonard Cohen, 54-40, Alien Sex Fiend, KMFDM, Motley Crue, Faster Pussycat, Mozart, Hank Williams...it goes on... I arrive in Victoria on September 8th and should have a phone number posted before then. I hope to start jamming and writing shortly after. If you are looking for something to work on, let me know. | Audiophil User Info... | Hey, Thats an impressive array of influences you've selected there. I enjoy Zeppelin, Clapton, Steve Winwood, Hendrix, Black Sabbath, Tom Waits, Morrissey, Eurythmics, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Elton John, Iron Maiden, Muse, and lots lots more. Mostly I enjoy songs with melody. Even my heavier influences like Iron Maiden, are very melodic. Anyways, I play guitar (acoustic and electric), I have a stage ready amp (it's got plent of juice if needed, along with a beautiful clean tone) and im going to UVic. I've been playing for a few years. Possible put offs may be my lack of experience and thatim well over a decade younger then you.
