Looking for players interested in rehearsing, doing business stuff, booking shows and being on time. Basically, serious about having a career in music and willing to commit to doing that. You can't be in four other projects hoping one will pan out. You must be able to play regular shows and tour at the very least on weekends. You must be aware of the business side of things and have a healthy attitude about making money (ie. if you want a career, you have to find a way to pay the rent).

Looking for enthusiastic, creative, fun, easy-going, open-minded people to create rootsy, folk-rock with eclectic arrangements. But not genre specific enough to limit the music either. If you like Fleetwood Mac, REM, Coldplay, Travis, Smiths, Sloan, Folk Implosion, and can appreciate eclectic 80's music (esp.goth), 60's stuff, Celtic and other kinds of folk and can appreciate stuff that's corny or fun every once in a while that's great. But any musical influences are great.

You must have a great sense of humour!
You must like women - this is not a boy band.

Ok... if you've said yes to all of the above -- lastly - age, looks and talent:
1) Age -- as long as you're serious - age is not an issue - in fact, the more mature you are, the better! As long as you can make room in your life for a project like this, that's cool.
2) Looks -- not an issue --- just don't smell like BO and that's cool
3) Talent -- you love music, are capable at your instrument and will learn anything you need to know AND/OR You are an expert who can transform even the banal into transcendant eclectic genius. Either works for me -- chemistry is important.

Needed (doesn't have to all be separate people -- if you do more than one of the following at the same time - ie. sing and play guitar, that's great too):

DRUMS - You like heavy drums ala U2, Celtic music, and can appreciate the drumming in Tori Amos songs (or other eclectically arranged songs) and love Mick Fleetwood, Neil Peart.
BASS - You are into the deep, driving bass rhythms - and ones that make sense in songs - listen to Fleetwood Mac or U2. You love 'tension' building in a song.
GUITAR - Electric -- you'll play anything but you don't do Whitesnake - you can use your guitar to make a song have a sound - and can let go of the need to do a guitar solo every 2 seconds.
ACOUSTIC GUITAR - You can make rhythm happen and have energy in spades - you like interesting rhythms
BACKGROUND VOCALS - You can do harmony and sing on key and are willing to practice
LEAD VOCALS - You can do harmony and love duets - ala Fleetwood Mac - the threepart kind - and willing to practice and can sing on key
CELLO, VIOLIN, PERCUSSION, ACCORDION, PIANO -- if you play something cool -- that would be cool too!

Expect to rehearse a couple of times a week and have one business meeting a month - as well as prepare production for shows when needed.

SO this is a really really long list of requests. But hopefully laying it all out there will find the right people. I have a vision of this amazingly fun, cool, catchy band that communicates something emotionally and visually with its audience.

Putting it out to the universe.

Hello. Everything in you posting sounds great! I am a female vocalist who loves duets, harmonizing, and "yes" can sing on key. I am a fan of all of the musicians that you mentioned. I am a huge fan of Fleetwood Mac, (especially Stevie Nicks). I was not sure if you are seeking a female or male vocalist... or both...Well, if you are still in search of a vocalist, than please write back.. Thank you.. - Fri, 30 Apr 2004 7:10pm

Hi folks -- hope you all aren't like 'Confused'.:-(

I've been out of town and away from the net for the last number of days. I wasn't expecting such an overwhelming response so fast! Thank you to all who replied! I'm working through your responses today and tomorrow.

If you haven't received a response by Monday night - e-mail me as I may not have received your e-mail.

Thanks. - Sun, 2 May 2004 7:30am
